Financial Assistance Program
We understand that medical bills can be burdensome and applying for assistance can be confusing. We may be able to help patients with all or part of their responsibility for medical services. We have several options to support patients through the process of providing
financial assistance based on household income.
Financial Counseling
To learn more about financial responsibilities of their care, Barton Health provides patients with the opportunity for financial counseling. Patients can connect with a bilingual Financial Counselor to review payment options, including financial assistance and available programs to offer solutions and answer questions regarding payment for care.
A Financial Counselor can assist with:
- Apply for financial assistance
- Set-up payment plans
- Identify eligibility for programs including Workers' Comp, Medical, Victims of Crime & others
To speak to a Financial Counselor, please call 530.539.6086.
Financial Assistance Policy & Forms
Barton Health provides financial assistance to patients in need who do not qualify for other programs.* The amount of discount you receive toward the balance of your medical bill will depend on your adjusted income as compared with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines (subject to approval by the Financial Assistance Committee). Upon qualifying for discounted medical services, we will work out a payment plan based on your ability to pay - we simply ask that you honor our payment plan agreement.
*All financial assistance is based on funds budgeted yearly by the hospital. There may be times during the year when funds will not be available which will limit the ability to approve applications.
